Her articles have been published in academic and professional journals such as the Journal of International Financial Management & Accounting, Journal of Business Law, International Tax Journal, and The Corporate Lawyer. In her professional capacity, Professor Shi worked as an International Tax Manager, gaining extensive practical experience at 'Big Four' accounting firms in Boston and Hong Kong. She was responsible for numerous tax compliance and advisory projects, serving both individual and corporate clients, including Tufts University, Boston Gas Company, EF Education First, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Merrill Lynch. Professor Shi is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the USA, a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FCPA), and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). She is also an Associate Member of the Hong Kong Independent Non-Executive Director Association and a Life Member of the Hong Kong Society of Accountants. Furthermore, she has been invited to be an Expert Member of the Shenzhen Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Over the past three years, Professor Shi has served as a marker and moderator for the 'Advanced Taxation Practice' paper of the Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) qualification examination administered by The Taxation Institute of Hong Kong (TIHK), a professional body focusing on tax practice.
