IBS Student Team Wins Second Prize in the 3rd International Business Simulation and Case Competition of the Silk Road MPAcc Alliance
From July 5 to July 7, the 3rd International Business Simulation and Case Competition of the Silk Road MPAcc Alliance was successfully held in Shihezi City, Xinjiang. The competition was organized by the Silk Road MPAcc Alliance, hosted by its Competition Committee and the School of Economics and Management, Shihezi University, and co-organized by Cesim Finland. A total of 131 teams from universities including Xi'an Jiaotong University, Shaanxi Normal University, and Xi'an University of Science and Technology participated. After six weeks of intense competition, 13 teams advanced to represent their universities in the offline finals.
On the morning of July 6, the IBS student team—"Team 521," consisting of students Li Shiyu, Wu Jiayao, Yang Xin, and Zhang Qiyuan, under the guidance of Professor Qiu Meng from the Department of Finance and Accounting and Professor Liu Zhenhua from the Experimental Center—delivered their presentation during the offline group competition at Shihezi University. During the competition, the team members clearly and logically presented their case analysis, calmly and confidently responded to the judges' questions, and demonstrated the outstanding professionalism and excellence of IBS students, ultimately winning the Second Prize.
This competition was held in line with China's Western Development Strategy, aiming to foster cooperation, communication, exchange, and resource sharing among MPAcc training institutions in provinces and regions along the New Silk Road. It continuously summarizes MPAcc training experiences and improves the quality of MPAcc talent cultivation. The competition also provides a platform for university faculty and students to integrate theoretical knowledge with social practice, cultivating MPAcc students' abilities to engage in enterprise practice, simulate management decisions, and compete with solutions. Through this competition, students trained their business acumen, enhanced their teamwork skills, strengthened their core professional competitiveness, and advanced towards the goal of becoming cross-disciplinary applied accounting professionals.
