Our School Successfully Concluded the Final Round of the First College Student Career Planning Competition.
The final round of the First College Student Career Planning Competition of our school was successfully held on November 23, 2023, at 4:30 PM on the Chang’an Campus of Shaanxi Normal University.
The competition was divided into two tracks: the Employment Track and the Growth Track. The Employment Track took place in Room 1105 of Wenlan Building, with judges including Wang Yangyang, Deputy Director of the Admissions and Employment Office; Yang Bo, Associate Professor of the Department of Organization Management; Ma Jing, Counselor for the undergraduate cohort of 2020; and Guo Xianyi, Counselor for the undergraduate cohort of 2023. The Growth Track was held in Room 1107 of Wenlan Building, with judges including Yan Liang, Associate Professor of the Department of Organization Management; Shen Jian, Associate Professor of the Department of Economics; Nan Jinyang, Secretary of the Youth League Committee; and Zhao Weiwei, Counselor for the undergraduate cohort of 2022.
In the Employment Track, participants carefully prepared their job application materials based on their job-seeking intentions and career needs, comprehensively demonstrating their practical job-seeking abilities from multiple perspectives, including practical experience, employment readiness, and achievements. In the Growth Track, participants delivered comprehensive presentations on their career planning reports from various dimensions of career development.
Following the presentations, the judging faculty posed questions to each participant based on their reports and presentations, engaging in in-depth discussions on topics such as the understanding of specialized terminology, the types of enterprises corresponding to target positions, and the coherence of various stages within the career development pathway. In light of the specific issues raised by participants and their overall plans, the judges provided deeper analysis and guidance grounded in practical circumstances.
As the competition drew to a close, representative judges from each venue delivered overall evaluations. In the Employment Track, Deputy Director Wang Yangyang offered a clear interpretation of the track’s standards and objectives, highlighting key considerations and techniques for resume preparation, and commended participants who demonstrated outstanding performance during the competition. In the Growth Track, Professor Yan Liang advised participants to first clarify their career choices, then align their professional competencies and skills accordingly, and extended sincere blessings for their future career endeavors. Professor Shen Jian encouraged participants to present themselves with confidence, articulate core points effectively, highlight their strengths, and showcase their unique potential in the future workplace.
Finally, the hosts announced the scores of all participants. Across the two tracks, a total of two first-place awards, four second-place awards, six third-place awards, and twelve excellence awards were conferred.
Thus, the final round of the First College Student Career Planning Competition of the International Business School, Shaanxi Normal University, came to a successful conclusion. This competition not only provided participants with a platform to showcase their abilities and refine their skills but also offered them an opportunity to engage in deep reflection on their future career development. Through this competition, participants gained clearer insights and more practical plans for their career paths. Meanwhile, the professional evaluations and guidance provided by the judges offered valuable advice and inspiration for the participants’ future career trajectories.
