Our School Successfully Held an Employment and Entrepreneurship Forum
To help students better understand corporate job requirements and enhance their employment competitiveness, our school held an Employment and Entrepreneurship Forum titled “Career Guidance and Employment Preparation for Economics and Management Students” on the afternoon of June 2 in Classroom 1116 of Wenjin Building. The event featured Ms. Liu Ting, Secretary and Vice President of Xi’an Innovative Talent Research Institute and Director of Xi’an Xingzhong Headhunting, as the keynote speaker. All undergraduate students of the Class of 2020 from our school participated in the event, which was moderated by Ma Jing, Counselor for the undergraduate cohort of 2020.
At the beginning of the lecture, Liu Ting first shared her own workplace experiences. She then provided a detailed explanation of the corporate environment, covering topics such as the nature, business operations, and development status of enterprises; corporate competitors and partners; compensation structures, promotion mechanisms, and basic benefits; the advantages companies have in attracting talent; and organizational structures, management status, and leadership styles.
Liu Ting emphasized that to stand out in the job market, students need to possess solid professional competence and professional qualities. She recommended that during their university years, students should actively participate in practical activities to accumulate experience and skills, and continuously enhance their professional knowledge in their areas of expertise. In the context of rapid social development and increasingly fierce competition in the job market, Liu Ting reminded students to adopt a mindset characterized by “humility without inferiority, confidence without arrogance, independence without aloofness, and pragmatism with steadfastness,” which she identified as essential for achieving success in both job seeking and the workplace.
Regarding self-introduction and resume writing, Liu Ting offered practical tips and suggestions. Self-introductions should be concise and impactful, highlighting personal strengths and specialties, while resumes should emphasize professional capabilities and practical experience, with content tailored and optimized according to the target position.
At the conclusion of the lecture, Liu Ting provided students with insights on future development. She emphasized that the workplace demands continuous learning, innovative thinking, and the courage to embrace challenges. She encouraged students to maintain curiosity and a spirit of inquiry, and to continuously explore and expand their career paths.
The students demonstrated great interest and enthusiasm in attending the lecture. Through Liu Ting’s sharing, they gained a deeper understanding of job seeking and employment, and expressed their determination to work diligently, bravely face challenges, and realize their dreams in their future career development.
